Welcome to Soccer City Training Center.  My name is Ryan Lavner and I am the Director of the Training Center. Any questions that you have be directed towards me at ryanlavner@hotmail.com any day of the week.  I also have "Office Hours" at Soccer City on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm.  This time slot is set aside for questions or concerns related to the Training Center.

Staff:

I am excited to announce that we have hired a highly qualified staff of College, High School, and Premier Level Coaches. Coach's credentials are on the website http://www.soccer-city.com/Youth/training_center_coachingstaff.htm

Purpose:

The purpose of the Training Center is to develop basic skills and soccer techniques in a a fun, low pressure environment.  At the 5-11 age groups developing ball control is the most important quality that a player can achieve.  This is what the Training Center is designed to do.  We will work each week on different techniques to enhance a player's ball control with both feet and given them something that they can bring to any team.  Fortunately for our players games are included but they are not the purpose of the Training Center.  We are here to develop players and most that occurs in the sessions not the games.

Games:

The games will be coached by a Training Center Staff member.   Each Team will have a Staff coach assigned as the primary coach (however it is possible that any coach may fill in from time to time).  Again, I emphasize that the games are fun and exciting, but the training is the critical part of the development formula.  Schedules come out during the week of the first game.

Teams:

Players are assigned to teams based on Age, Gender, Ability, and Need.  The process to group players/friends together is very strict.  You must present Soccer City with a full list of the players to be grouped together at sign up.  If you don't present your completed list then the players may be placed on teams was we see fit for our team needs (Remember your lists must follow the Age, Gender, Ability and Need Guideline).

Parents Meeting:

Parents are asked to attend one "Parents Meeting: per six week session.  There will be a a meeting held on Fied2 during each practice of the first week.  For example if your child is signed up for Wednesdays at 5pm, then the first Wednesday your signed up for there will be a meeting on field 2 during the 5pm practice to go over the Training Center objectives, rules, opportunities etc.

Thanks and Welcome!

Coach Ryan
